PAYCHECK CALCULATOR · TAX YEAR 2026
Your paycheck, worked out in plain numbers
Type in your annual salary and this calculator applies the verified 2026 federal brackets, the standard deduction for your filing status, and FICA. It does not guess at state tax. If your state has no wage income tax, or a verified 2026 state table in this build, you get a full take-home figure. If it does not, the calculator tells you state tax is left out and why.
What this calculator does, and what it leaves out
It uses the 2026 federal schedule from IRS Revenue Procedure 2025-32, the standard deduction, Social Security tax at 6.2 percent up to $184,500 of wages, Medicare at 1.45 percent on all wages, and the extra 0.9 percent Medicare tax above the filing-status threshold. State tax is calculated only for a single filer in a state with no wage income tax or a verified 2026 state table in this build. For other filing statuses, and for states without a verified table, the calculator says so plainly and leaves state tax out. It leaves out tax credits, itemized deductions, local income taxes, and anything your employer deducts for retirement or health cover. Employer withholding under IRS Publication 15-T also depends on your W-4, so a paycheck can differ from this annual estimate even when the annual math is right.
